Estate Grapes

New Vines before planting

We have scanned the globe for grape varieties that thrive in cooler climates and benefit from our long growing season. We matched these varieties with rootstock that best suits the soil conditions found on our site and helps advance ripening.

Two acres are planted to each of Pinot Noir (the most ancient of the nobles) and Pinot Gris (a more modern, couturier version of the variety). The remaining three acres are planted to Gewurztraminer (that saucy courtesan of a wine), Zweigelt (Austria's leading red--think of a romantic tenor in Imperial Vienna) and Leon Millot (sister to Marechal Foch with a softer, more feminine character). We also have a small of Chardonnay scattered hither and thither in the vineyard (a bit of intervarietal canoodling at the nursery from which we got our vines). We pick these grapes separately and blend them with the Gewurztraminer to create our Prism wine.

Vineyard Partners

We produce one wine, our Bordeaux-style blend Fetish, from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown for us on the Black Sage Bench in the South Okanagan.
